There are few standards addressing topics such as ISO7637_1 ; ISO7637_2 ; ISO7637_3 , but as mentioned, more work or regulations are needed. The battery pack, as an individual component with connectors and interfaces, including all cells and electronics, has acceptable EMC behavior, as defined in relevant standards.
Why do we need a new standards system for vehicle batteries?
At the same time, emerging battery technology has continued to develop in recent years, and the vehicle battery is facing a rapidly changing environment of technological innovation. The development of new technology needs a new standards system to regulate it.
How should battery standards be established?
Based on the above analysis, the establishment of battery standards should fully consider the following aspects. First, from the perspective of the whole life cycle of the battery, the safety and reliability of the whole process—from manufacturing to application and decommissioning—needs to be guaranteed.
What are the requirements of automotive battery packs?
Safety is one of the most important requirements of automotive battery packs, as discussed in Section V. The battery pack should be electrically and mechanically safe, and different criteria should be fulfilled as required by the standards. Functional safety is also the main tool for realizing the requirements mentioned.
What are the standards for battery manufacturing?
Although domestic standards for relevant equipment in the battery manufacturing process exist, such as DB13/T 1513–2012 and GB/T 38331–2019 , the process of battery manufacturing is quite complicated and cumbersome, and the set of standards on the manufacturing process are not complete and need to be further developed.
How much SoC should a battery pack have?
For battery packs or systems designed for external charging, the SOC shall be adjusted to not <95% of the normal SOC working range specified by the manufacturer. For battery packs or systems designed for charging only through vehicle energy, the SOC shall be adjusted to not <90% of the manufacturer's working range.
